ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan criticized Western nations on Saturday for "special peace" and double standards related to "gross human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir."


In an interview with Chinese media, Prime Minister Imran said the West had not spoken of Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) of India being taken illegally, when the worst human rights abuses were committed by Indian troops.


There is a special peace in Kashmir, ”he said, adding that Kashmir had been turned into a prison by 800,000 Indian soldiers, and such peace in Kashmir was a two-dimensional silence.


Asked about Afghanistan, the prime minister said the country had suffered for 40 years as foreign powers had turned their land into a battlefield.


The international community did not think of the Afghans after the withdrawal of foreign troops.


"Now everyone has left Afghanistan. I 'm talking about the 40 million Afghans currently facing serious humanitarian problems, "he said, warning that unrest and similar genocide could return to Afghan soil after the Soviet occupation.


Pak-China relations have grown stronger over time

Expressing his desire to attend the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics during his upcoming visit to China, PM Imran said the time-tested relationship between the two countries had grown stronger over time.


The prime minister said the two countries had a friendly relationship that lasted 70 years and strengthened the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).


He said: “There is a feeling in Pakistan that China has always been with us in times of need and has supported us through difficult times. Similarly, Pakistan was also constantly aligned with China. ”


The prime minister also called for the construction of the Karakorum highway as a milestone in the Pakistan-China friendship.


In response to another question, the prime minister stated that they would like to see China take steps to end poverty. “We want to emulate the Chinese model of inclusive growth. China's economic growth has proved the prosperity of all Chinese people, ”he said.

The premier said this inclusive growth did not bridge the gap between rich and poor. China has been a role model for all those countries that wanted inclusive growth, he added.


Such growth, he said, also contributes to wealth creation. China remained economically focused and as it grew, its fruits fell on all sectors of society.


Regarding CPEC, the prime minister said its first phase focused on energy and energy sectors, but now they are developing special economic and agricultural areas, seeking Chinese cooperation to help improve their productivity, crop and livestock production, citing the latest cotton varieties as developed by China.


He also called for knowledge and technology as another area of ​​cooperation as the future of the world depends on the growth of the IT sector. He noted that China has been successful in the field of IT.


Speaking on another area of ​​cooperation between the two countries, he said they would be learning from China's experience of overcrowding cities and dealing with the problems of air pollution and waste disposal etc.


The prime minister said they would also teach the Chinese nation to play cricket, and expressed hope that the Chinese would be successful in the sport as they have shown outstanding performance in the Olympics over the past few years.
